Thanks to all those who came to the welcome BBQ last Thursday!

The students have been working hard preparing the Orange Shirt Day assembly this Friday – it is great to see so much leadership among our students.

We have begun a “système d’économie’ in our classes. This system encourages the students to speak french, help around the classroom and school and show leadership. This also reinforces financial literacy concepts!

Each week the students start with 250$ – this is their weekly salary. Throughout the week they can gain money or lose money. The students keep track of their salary and calculate their earnings every Monday morning. At the end of the month, if the students have met their monthly goal we have a class party of sorts. This month we are working towards a movie afternoon with popcorn (of course!)
